I review the beers I drink

Southern Tier – Nitro Warlock

I reviewed the normal carbonated version of this beer way back in 2020. Flashlight shows as a hazy chestnut brown, head retention is solid, smells of pumpkin pie, chocolate, and coffee. The taste is crisp and smooth with flavors of rich hot chocolate, mocha, pumpkin, and spices on an ultra smooth and creamy full body. The finish is long and moderately bitter, featuring notes of dark chocolate, espresso, pumpkin spice (especially cinnamon), and herbal hops. Overall this is delicious, and lovely as a nitro stout. I’m not sure what my problem was with the malt profile in the original review as this feels similar to what I described and I think it’s great now; perhaps the nitrogen just makes it significantly better.
