I review the beers I drink

Pasquale Pelissero – “Bricco” Barbaresco 2020

The so called “Queen of Italian wines,” a DOCG nebbiolo from the banks of the Tanaro river near Alba.

Smells of cherry, plum, and aromatic pipe tobacco. The taste is dry and lightly acidic with flavors of cherry, raspberry, plum, and rhubarb on a soft medium body. The finish is long and moderately bitter with a high astringency, featuring notes of red meat, leather, raspberry, black cherry, dark chocolate, and oak. Overall, it’s a very dry and complicated red, but it’s very balanced and pairs fabulously with pasta and a red sauce. Definitely a wine that I could imagine improving with age.

ABV:14.5%
IBU:
Malts:100% Nebbiolo
Other:Aged 2 years in French oak casks
Yeast:Wine
