I review the beers I drink

Maeli – Dilì Moscato Giallo 2020

A “yellow moscato” wine and my first ever “frizzante” or “slightly effervescent” wine, from the Veneto IGT. Smells of honey, fermented pears, and a musty funk similar to a saison ale. The taste is crisp and peppery with flavors of saltines, white pepper, honey, and lime on a lightly effervescent body. The finish is long and low in bitterness and with a moderately low acidity, featuring notes of lime peel, yeasty funk, and minerality. Overall, it’s really not that far from a saison, it’s a little sour, a little funky, but also crisp and finishes quite clean like a pilsner or a pils radler. Very interesting.
