I review the beers I drink

Tree House – Tree of Life Blended (3 Years Later)

Way back in October of 2020 I picked up 2 bottles of this beer. One I drank and reviewed fresh, while the other I stashed away in my aging vault until now (Tree House recommends a maximum of 3 years aging for this release).

Very hazy and murky, a flashlight merely produces a burnt orange glow around the edges; no head retention, smells of licorice root, caramel, and aged brandy. The taste is rich and creamy with flavors of fig, raisin, sherry, hazelnut, and vanilla of a super smooth and creamy, lightly carbonated body. The finish is long and moderately low in bitterness, featuring notes of aged champagne, caramel, Earl Grey with steamed milk, sherry, oak, vanilla, and just a touch of herbal hops. Overall, wow, just wow. This beer is so exquisitely decadent that I really can’t even put it into words how good this is, how smooth the body is, how the finish leaves a lingering aroma in your nose on top of the luscious flavors. I noted the smoothness 3 years ago, but I really do think it’s gotten even smoother. This has been my favorite bottle aged experiment thus far.
