Dave Drinks Beer

I review the beers I drink

Jim Beam – Double Oak Twice Barreled Bourbon

Neat:

Smells of caramel and oak, with a faint floral honey note underneath. The taste is sweet and lightly smoky with more notes of caramel and toffee. The finish is long and warm, with added spicy notes like pepper and coriander before the oak takes over.

Rocks:

Smell is just a tad more floral, taste is less sweet and more oaky, and paradoxically, a touch more alcohol felt in the finish.

Ultimately, this is a lot better than the previous ones, being much more enjoyable to sip or mix with.

ABV:43%
IBU:
Malts:75% Corn, 13% Rye
Hops:No Age Statement; aged in 2 separate newly charred barrels
Yeast:Sour Mash
