I review the beers I drink

Goose Island – Bourbon County Brand Stout 2023

Flashlight shows does not shine through, no real head retention, smells of fig, raisin, and dark chocolate. The taste is rich and fruity with flavors of fig, plum, raisin, cherry, caramel, chocolate, and vanilla on a super thick and smooth body. The finish is long and moderately low in bitterness, featuring notes of dark chocolate, herbal hops, black cherry, oak, and vanilla. Overall, it’s a solid baseline entry, reminiscent of chocolate covered fruits, though a bit rough around the edges. I’ll be interested to see how this one ages.
