I review the beers I drink

Elena Welch – Schiava 2021

A lesser known grape varietal from the Alto Adige DOC. Smells of plum, fig, and pomegranate. The taste is lightly sweet and fruity with flavors of plum, cherry, raspberry, and pomegranate on a light body. The finish is long and low in bitterness and with a moderate acidity, featuring notes of raspberry, grape leaves, and cranberry with a touch of drying oak at the very end. Overall, this is a lovely wine: light, fruity, refreshing, and very well balanced between sweet, tart, and dry notes.

ABV:12.5%
