I review the beers I drink

Petrus – Aged Red

15% pale ale aged in foeders, 85% dubbel brown ale with cherries added. Hazy burnt orange in color with decent head retention, smells of sweet and tart cherries, with a hint of booze, a little reminiscent of cherry cough syrup, but not off-putting. The taste is very sweet with juicy cherry front and center and only a hint of tartness or maltiness underneath, paired to a medium body. The finish is mellow and fleeting with minimal bitterness, supplied by faint herbal hops, and residual malt and tart cherry flavors with an edge of alcohol warmth that are all quickly lost to a wave of astringency. Overall, another fantastic beer, very sweet and while not overdone, I personally prefer the Oud Bruin.
