I review the beers I drink

90+ – Lot 172 Lambrusco N.V.

A sparkling red varietal from the Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOP. Smells of grape, strawberry, and cream soda. The taste is sweet and fruity with flavors of grape juice, strawberry jam, raspberry, cherry, and a hint of lemon on a soft & effervescent full body. The finish is long and very low in bitterness with a moderate acidity balanced by residual sugars; featuring notes of rhubarb, raspberry, and strawberry jam. Overall, this is a very fruity and refreshing wine, with a lovely carbonation that makes it feel like an alcopop or a brighter, fruitier, kalimotxo. A very enjoyable and sweet (but not too sweet) wine that’s also very affordable at $11/bottle.
