Pours dark reddish brown hue, smells of raisins, oak, and alcohol. The taste is obnoxiously sweet with flavors of raisins, fruitcake, prunes, marzipan, and maple syrup on a thick and actually syrupy body. The finish is long and still very sweet, featuring notes of vanilla, caramel, English toffee, mead, and banana bread with walnuts. Overall, the flavors are actually quite nice and well balanced with a lovely variety, but it’s SO saccharine-sweet it’s hard to even finish one glass. Perhaps this would be good as a cocktail mixer?
