I review the beers I drink

Jim Beam – Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

In theory, this is the same as the Repeal Batch just chill filtered

Neat:

Smells of toffee, caramel, and a hint of honey. The taste is slightly sweet with mostly the same toffee and caramel notes, maybe some tobacco as well, the the experience does seem to benefit from the chill filter and the body is a tad smoother. The finish is long and oaky bit doesn’t overstay it’s welcome due to a mild astringency and boozy warmth. Overall, it’s pretty much the same as Repeal Batch but smoother.

Rocks:

The smell has more floral and honey notes, and the flavor is a bit softer with the sweetness and wood thinned and balanced accordingly. The finish is also the same yet milder. Overall no real change other than dilution.

Ultimately, it’s marginally better in my opinion than Repeal Batch, but still a fairly standard bourbon.

ABV:40%
IBU:
Malts:75% Corn, 13% Rye
Hops:Aged in new charred white oak barrels for 4 years
Yeast:Sour Mash
