Thanks to my pharmacy intern from work and good friend Greg for this one! Pours crystal clear with magnificent head retention, smells of caramel, floral hops and perhaps a hint of peated malt? The taste is crisp and bready with flavors of toasted bread and caramel malts along with another subtle hint of peat smoke underneath and a medium body. The finish is long and moderately bitter with notes of herbal hops, pine, and citrus peel. Overall, this is a very good and well balanced IPA that manages to add it’s own bit of Scottish flair and come up with something both enjoyable and unique.
