Flashlight shows a deep ruby color and head retention is moderate. Smell is fruity and dark, notes of cherries and chocolate. Taste is dry and smoky with a slight acidity akin to coffee, with a medium mouthfeel. The finish is also dry and smoky with a moderate bitterness and notes of dark chocolate and pine. Overall, less intense overall, but hoppier and dryer than Darkness; still a great bottle to pick up for something different.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","template":"","embm_styles":[52],"embm_groups":[],"embm_menus":[],"class_list":["post-776","embm_beer","type-embm_beer","status-publish","hentry","embm_style-ipa-black-cascadian-dark-ale"],"embm_profile":{"malts":"Pale, Golden Promise, Aromatic, Chocolate, Black, Med.
