The taste is crisp and herbaceous with flavors of cucumber, lime, black pepper, and a hint of juniper. The finish is long and low in bitterness, featuring notes of lime peels, black pepper, cucumber, and subtle pine. Overall, I really can barely taste this gin, the garnish seems to overpower it and all I get is that and a vague juniper flavor throughout.

A G&T without garnish is has a few more citrus, pepper, and baking spice notes.

A gimlet has notes of juniper and flowers, but it’s very subtle and gets lost in the mix.

A dry martini is indeed dry, and the vermouth flavors stand out more than the gin, despite using Hendricks’ recommend 5:1 ratio.

Similarly, a martinez has just a hint of botanicals in the finish, otherwise just tasting like sweet vermouth.

In a negroni however, the black pepper really shines through and accentuates the bitter herbal notes of the Campari well. A most interesting result.

[187
["post-4936","embm_beer","type-embm_beer","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","embm_style-gin-tonic
Gin: Juniper, Rose Petals, Cucumber, Coriander, Angelica Root, Orris Root, Orange Peel, Lemon Peel, Cubeb Berries, Grains of Paradise, Caraway Seeds, Elderflower, Yarrow, Chamomile, Cardamom
Tonic: Congoan Quinine, Tanzanian Bitter Orange, Provencal "subtle botanicals", Gloucestershire Elderflower
["GET
