The taste is woody and sweet with flavors of caramel, honey, toffee, and oak. The finish is warm and smooth, with notes of oak, cinnamon, vanilla, cardamom, and molasses. Overall it’s a very mellow rum, but quite flavorful and complex. I actually worked my way up through the full Bacardi lineup recently; Silver, Gold, Spiced, Black, Añejo Cuatro, and most of this bottle as you can see. All of those rums were remarkably smooth and enjoyable for their price range, but work better in cocktails (though the Cuatro doubles as a decent budget sipping rum around $20/750ml). The Ocho can be used for more spirit forward cocktails such as a Rum Old Fashioned, but it’s nuance gets lost in most other cocktails. Definitely an enjoyable bottle no matter how you use it, and surprisingly affordable around $30/750ml.

[245
["post-4884","embm_beer","type-embm_beer","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","embm_style-rum
["GET
