The taste is crisp and bready as you’d expect of a stout, including the thick creamy body, but underneath are a few unique subtleties: fruity, smoky, perhaps the faintest hint of whiskey. The finish is moderately bitter from a blend of herbal hop and coffee flavors, with possibly some vanilla as well. Overall, this is a solid stout, very well made and worth the price paid. However, I really don’t get much of the oak barrel or Irish Whiskey flavors that the name implies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","template":"","embm_styles":[153],"embm_groups":[],"embm_menus":[],"class_list":["post-1336","embm_beer","type-embm_beer","status-publish","hentry","embm_style-stout-other"],"embm_profile":{"malts":"Extra pale ale, amber and chocolate malts with roast barley","hops":"Herkules and Citra","additions":"Aged in\/with Tullamore Dew whiskey barrels\/staves","yeast":"Ale","abv":6.1,"ibu":40},"embm_extras":{"availability":"","notes":"","beer_number":null},"embm_untappd":{"id":2359299},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.davedrinksbeer.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/embm_beers\/1336","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.davedrinksbeer.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/embm_beers"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.davedrinksbeer.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/embm_beer"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.davedrinksbeer.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=1336"}],"version-history":[{"count":3,"href":"https:\/\/www.davedrinksbeer.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/embm_beers\/1336\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":1340,"href":"https:\/\/www.davedrinksbeer.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/embm_beers\/1336\/revisions\/1340"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.davedrinksbeer.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1336"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"embm_style","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.davedrinksbeer.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/embm_styles?post=1336"},{"taxonomy":"embm_group","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.davedrinksbeer.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/embm_groups?post=1336"},{"taxonomy":"embm_menu","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.davedrinksbeer.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/embm_menus?post=1336"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
