Smells of fruits, cherry and plum, with some softer, more typical Belgian notes underneath, and a touch of alcohol. The taste is sweet and warm, notes of chocolate and roasted grains, and light mineral quality from the creamy, full body; alcohol content is noticeable, but serves to add a pleasant warming sensation throughout the mouth. The finish is warm and lightly bitter, more notes from the orange peels than hops, the thyme is also discernable underneath, along with a light pepperiness, and together these flavors slowly fade out on the palate. Very tasty beer with a hell of a kick. Not very sessionable due to the high ABV, but it’s a great beer to sip slowly while you become warm and cozy.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"closed","template":"","embm_styles":[10],"embm_groups":[],"embm_menus":[],"class_list":["post-1115","embm_beer","type-embm_beer","status-publish","hentry","embm_style-belgian-strong-dark-ale"],"embm_profile":{"malts":"Unknown","hops":"Unknown","additions":"Thyme, Dried Curacao Orange Peel","yeast":"Chouffe Ale","abv":10,"ibu":25},"embm_extras":{"availability":"","notes":"","beer_number":null},"embm_untappd":{"id":7539},"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.davedrinksbeer.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/embm_beers\/1115","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.davedrinksbeer.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/embm_beers"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.davedrinksbeer.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/embm_beer"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.davedrinksbeer.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=1115"}],"version-history":[{"count":5,"href":"https:\/\/www.davedrinksbeer.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/embm_beers\/1115\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":1121,"href":"https:\/\/www.davedrinksbeer.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/embm_beers\/1115\/revisions\/1121"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.davedrinksbeer.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1115"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"embm_style","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.davedrinksbeer.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/embm_styles?post=1115"},{"taxonomy":"embm_group","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.davedrinksbeer.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/embm_groups?post=1115"},{"taxonomy":"embm_menu","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.davedrinksbeer.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/embm_menus?post=1115"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
