Appears to be muddy brown in color, smells of citrus, apple, and watermelon. The taste is sweet and fruity up front with flavors following the nose of green apple, lime, and watermelon on a thin watery body. The finish is long and fairly bitter with notes of concentrated kratom leaves and chemicals; don’t really pick up on kava flavors. Overall, these shots never taste great really, but if you can get past the bitter finish this one is actually pretty good all things considered and covers the taste at least until you swallow it. However there is a discrepancy in the labelling of the bottle as on the front it says there are 250mg kavalactones per bottle, while the back says 250mg kavalactones per serving, which would make it 500mg per bottle…
As for effects, it is intended to be 2 servings per bottle, but there’s no easy way to measure that out other eyeballing, I ended up just drinking the whole thing slowly over the course of about half an hour, though despite shaking well, there was a layer of thick greenish brown sludge at the bottom of the bottle. I tried mixing it into a little water but it just stuck to my stirrer in a manner similar to cannabis resin, so I can’t be sure if I ingested the full amount. The kava mouth tingles are the first thing you notice, followed soon by the alcohol-esque kava buzz. The kratom opioid effects start to kick in after 15-20 minutes (on an empty stomach) and last for about 3 hours, for me it’s a mildly euphoric and stimulating dose, not overly sedating or itchy, however I am not a regular user, so my tolerance is more or less non-existent at present. Also of note, as the effects wore off I felt neither relaxed nor relieved, with a wave of nausea, restlessness, and an alarmingly strong urge to redose.
