Very hazy and quite murky with light head retention, smells of guava, mango, and passion fruit. The taste is crisp and bready, with flavors of toasted bread, grapefruit, guava, honey, and peach on a thick and effervescent full body. The finish is long and moderate to high in bitterness, featuring notes of lime peel, lemon zest, grapefruit, apricot, and floral hops. Overall, this is more assertively hopped than I expected, tastes more like a West Coast style IPA, and while I get the guava in the nose, it’s not particularly noticeable in the taste or finish. Tree House makes better fruited IPAs that are more worth seeking out than this one in my opinion.
