Tree House – At Ease

Lightly hazy with solid head retention, smells of cherries, caramel, and roasted grain. The taste is crisp and fruity, with flavors of cherry wood, toasted biscuits, caramel, honey, and a hint of apple on a smooth full body. The finish is long and moderately high in bitterness, featuring notes of herbal hops, bourbon barrel, and a hint of smoke. Overall, it’s a cool style, an ale but fermented and finished like a lager, and Tree House manages to pull it off with ease and finesse. Despite the finishing process I really enjoyed the extra ale fruitiness in this one, however the oak really works to elevate the whole experience.
