So, I’m not sure if this is actually a new beer, or just the same one I reviewed back in 2018 with a pretentious French labelling of “unfiltered.” Looks identical, but does have separate BeerAdvocate and Untappd profiles, so here goes.
Only just the slightest hint of haze with light head retention, smells of grapefruit, pine, and garlic as seems to be typical of Stone brews. The taste is crisp upfront with notes of toasted bread, grapefruit, and soft garlic on a full body. The finish is long and high in bitterness, featuring pine resin, grapefruit pith, and herbal hop notes. Overall, it’s what I expected; a super hoppy, super resinous West Coast hop bomb, that I’m pretty sure is just the same damn beer with a new label. Not terrible, but more oily hop bitterness than I prefer.
