Very lightly hazy with decent head retention, smells of pine, grapefruit juice, and wildflower honey. The taste is semi-sweet, with caramel and soft doughy malt notes, with a subtle warmth from the alcohol and a slick medium body. The finish is very long and very bitter, but it never pushes into unpleasant territory, just piney, herbal, citrusy, oily essence of hop goodness. Overall, this is an excellent DIPA, well balanced, and packed with hop flavor, but all the flavors play off of and complement each other to create a complex, rewarding drinking experience.
