Dave Drinks Beer

I review the beers I drink

Sierra Nevada – 40th Hoppy Anniversary Ale

Clear with decent head retention, smells of toasted bread and spicy, oily hops. The taste is very crisp and bready upfront with some spicy resinous hop oil underneath the full body. The finish is long but moderate in bitterness with notes of spicy, herbal, and pine hops. Overall, it’s bold and distinctive but still well balanced and not overpowering; very good.
