Clear with light head retention, smells of nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove. The taste is crisp and spiced with flavors of sweet roasted pumpkin, pumpkin spice, and slightly peppery roasted malt on a smooth full body. The finish is long and moderately low in bitterness, featuring notes of pumpkin spice, burnt caramel, and spicy hops. Overall, it’s a solid beer, well balanced and delivers on the expected flavors of pumpkin and spice. For what it is, it’s a great beer and I would gladly drink in place of most any other pumpkin ale, though as far as malty spiced ales go, I prefer the Winter Warmer style.
