I review the beers I drink

Saranac – Legacy IPA

Allegedly based on a recipe from 1914, potentially making this the original American IPA. Clear with a moderate head retention, smells of sofy doughy malt and subtle herbaceous and citrusy hops, though the entire aroma is rather faint here. The taste is crisp and crackery with an intriguing subtle sweetness riding on top and a full body. The finish is moderately bitter, and surprisingly juicy with notes of citrus and tropical fruits. Overall, it’s an interesting take on the IPA, each step of the experience is a surprise, making it fun, and balance is well maintained.
