Flashlight shows a slightly hazy ruby color, with very little head retention. Smells of roasted malts, notes of chocolate and coffee; a classic aroma. The taste is sweet and smoky at the same time, with the aforementioned chocolate and coffee notes underneath paired to a thick, chewy mouthfeel. The finish is dry and low in bitterness, with some nice herbal notes, but high in residual smokiness that plays nicely with the hops upon the tongue. Overall, not quite the same flavor profile of a Guinness, the quintessential Irish stout, however it is a well balanced, bold stout that provides a very pleasant drinking experience; a classic pub beer.
