I review the beers I drink

Samuel Smith – The Famous Taddy Porter

Technically clear, if held up to a light I can just barely make out my fingers on the other side, flashlight shows a bright garnet hue; head retention is light, smells of coffee, dark chocolate, and subtle hints of smoke. The taste is smoky and, surprisingly, savory with flavors of smoked meats, brownies, and toasted biscuits on a smooth full body. The finish is long and moderately bitter, featuring notes of dark chocolate, herbal hops, fire roasted marshmallow, and vanilla. Overall the savory smoked meat notes were shocking at first but it actually creates a nice interplay with the dessert notes in the finish.
