I review the beers I drink

Samuel Smith – Imperial Stout

Flashlight shows a deep blood red hue with light head retention, smells of toasted bread and herbal hops. The taste is crisp and fruity up front with flavors of cherry, apple, and plum stop a background of smoked meats and toasted bread on a smooth full body that borders on syrupy. The finish is long and moderately bitter, featuring notes of dark chocolate, coffee, herbal hops, and smoke. Overall this might actually be my favorite of the bunch, it’s kind of a blend of the Taddy Porter, Oatmeal Stout, and Chocolate Stout featuring the same exceptional smoothness and balanced with even more depth and complexity.
