I review the beers I drink

Sam Adams – Old Fezziwig Ale

Always my favorite beer out of my favorite winter pack, I look forward to this ale all year long. Clear with solid head retention, smells of sweet gingerbread cookies, a mulled wine with cinnamon and orange peel, and a hint of cranberry perhaps? Taste is crisp and spicy, no sweetness, bit a slight fruitiness from the orange peel; medium body. The finish is earthy and herbal, with a low to medium bitterness and an additional note of dry roasted cinnamon. Overall it’s perfectly balanced, and infinitely complex. Just like beloved family and friends this is a welcome visitor in my home each winter that’s great to share and spread some holiday cheers!
