I review the beers I drink

Sam Adams – Oatmeal Stout

Flashlight shows deep brown to burnt orange shades with thin, but steady head retention. Smells faintly of chocolate and coffee, but there really isn’t much aroma here. Taste is a crisp, lightly sweet malt profile, with a velvety smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Finish bursts with dry, herbal hop character with a light bitterness; smoke and chocolate notes remain. Overall, disappointed by the smell here, but otherwise this is a great, well-balanced, extremely sessionable stout.
