Very hazy with light head retention, smells of sourdough bread and grassy hops with a faint woodiness underneath. Taste is crisp and peppery, reminiscent of Boston Lager, but with a light funky/fruity note from the yeast reminiscent of a hefeweizen, and a subtle oak flavor reminiscent of an aged whiskey, all tied together in a complex yet balanced experience with a medium body. The finish is a continuation of this, with some residual yeast and oak flavors beneath a moderately bitter herbal and floral hop character reminiscent of a Euro pilsner. Overall, this beer isĀ a Frankenbeer, it takes an amalgam of flavors from other styles and ties them all together and through some supernatural force somehow makes it all work together in a fun and exotic drinking experience. Not extremely sessionable, but I definitely wouldn’t mind having two or three of these in a night.
