I review the beers I drink

Sam Adams – Chocolate Bock

Flashlight shows deep ruby to brown color, with minimal head retention; smells of chocolate and lightly toasted grains. Taste is sweet and savory chocolate, almost like chocolate milk, with the smooth, creamy mouthfeel, but the carbonation level is full and adds an extra thickness to the beer. The finish is warm and chocolatey, not much hop presence or bitterness to speak of, you’re really just left with more of the initial flavors. Overall, a somewhat one-dimensional beer, however I love how they captured and showcased the chocolate flavor so well, and as a result, it’s always been one of my favorite Sam beers.
