I review the beers I drink

Russian River – Pliny the Elder Double Dry-Hopped

Lightly hazy with minimal head retention, smells of citrus, mango, and rosewater. The taste is crisp and fruity with flavors of apple, pear, soft pineapple, and light mango with a toasted bread background on a thick, chewy body. The finish is long and high in bitterness, featuring notes of pine, herbal, and spicy hops with a touch of grapefruit pith. Overall, I expected this to just be the same as Pliny for President, but it is a bit more refined. Not as hazy, but more balanced, and more fruit forward, this makes a worthy sequel to Elder if you like your West Coast IPAs to be extra hoppy.
