So I was looking for a new gin to try and bought this bottle solely because they used lingonberries as one of the botanicals, and I love lingonberries. Smells lime, juniper, and lingonsaft. The taste is sweet and tart with flavors of lime, lingonberry, cranberry, and tangerine on an effervescent medium body. The finish is long and dry, featuring notes of juniper, lime peel, and quinine. Overall this is a smooth and balanced gin that makes for an incredibly tasty, incredibly refreshing, and remarkably complex G&T.
A 5:1 Martini (garnished with lime twist) is very smooth and is surprisingly bright and refreshing.
A Martinez, made to the recipe on Purity’s website, is bright, lively, and bitter, kinda like a more fruity negroni with notes of jammy lingonberries.
A gimlet really highlights the herbaceous notes of the basil and thyme with sweet and tart lime underneath. A gimlet riff using lingonsylt as the sweetener is absolutely divine. The gin Cape Cod I’ve been looking for!
