Paradox – Beaver Bite IPA India Pale Ale

This review sponsored by my pharmacist Matt. Not sure why they went with the redundant “IPA India Pale Ale” but whatever.

Clear with light head retention, smells of pine, citrus, and fresh dough. The taste is crisp with a slightly sour flavor underneath, kinda like toasted bread mixed with kiwi fruit; body is medium. The finish is long with moderate bitterness, featuring pine and herbal hop notes along with a lingering lemony tartness. Overall it’s not terrible, but unorthodox, I wasn’t expecting the sour undertones. Hoppy sours are a popular style right now, but this is more of a sour IPA than a hoppy sour if that makes sense.
