I review the beers I drink

Ommegang – Three Philosophers

“98% Quadrupel Ale, 2% Liefmans Kriek.” A lovely dark brown color, very hazy in the light. Smells of roasty, chocolatey malts, hints of cherries and acidity. Taste follows; Belgian yeast, dark chocolate and caramel malts, and a hint of dark cherry. Alcohol is nearly undetectable. Full mouthfeel gives way to chocolate and light spicy hop flavor in the finish. Similar to the Rosetta, but with stronger malt and yeast flavors, very complex and extremely drinkable.

ABV:9.7%
IBU:21
Malts:Two-row, amber malt, caramel malt, Munich 20 malt, Dingemans Aromatic malt, Extra Special malt and Cara 20 malt
Hops:Styrian Golding, Spalter Select
Other:Liefmans Cuvee Brut, 2% Liefmans kriek blended into brew kettle
Yeast:Belgian Ale
