Named in honor of Father Louis Hennepin, first European to discover Niagara Falls. Minneapolitans may also know him as the namesake for Hennepin County, so named in honor of his distinction as first European to cross the Mississippi.
Anyway, the beer is very hazy, with some dark yeast sediment, and in that picture, that was a gentle pour; very heavily carbonated. Smells of Belgian yeast and spices, faint notes of light malts and hops. Tastes spicy up front, with the spices and hops used blending together into a peppery, gingery flavor. This develops, through the full mouthfeel, with light biscuity malts and finishes into a dry, spicy hoppy finish. Overall, a solid Belgian farmhouse ale.
