Hazy with light head retention, smells of fig, raisin, and holiday spice. The taste is crisp and spicy with flavors of fig, buttered raisin bread, cinnamon, clove, and vanilla on an effervescent full body. The finish is long and moderately bitter, featuring notes of mulled wine, white pepper, herbal hops, and lightly astringent tea leaves. Overall, it’s not bad, but the bold flavors of Belgian ales and the bold flavors of the spices don’t really compliment each other and the result is a muddled conflict on the palate.
