I review the beers I drink

Ommegang – Barrel Maple Ale

Pours a lightly hazy dark chestnut brown with light head retention, smells of bourbon, oak, and maple syrup. The taste is crisp and fruity with flavors of toasted wheat biscuits, maple syrup, maraschino cherries, honey, caramel, and raisins on a lightly carbonated medium body. The finish is long and moderately low in bitterness, featuring notes of bourbon cask, coffee, cordial cherries, vanilla, soft herbal hops, and a hint of Belgian yeast. Overall, this beer is fantastic, so many layers perfectly balanced and exceptionally complimentary, it feels like the beer equivalent of chamber music; meticulously crafted and infinitely refined.
