New Belgium – Splash Out

So this is the first blend listed in the booklet, Splash Out created by NB brewer Rich Barthel, it’s 6oz Citradelic and 6oz Fat Tire Belgian White. A hazy lemon color with thin head retention, smells of citrusy hops and and tangerines; Belgian yeast and spices are subtle, but discernable underneath. The taste is crisp and doughy, with a strong citrus character and a full body. The finish is moderately bitter with lots of citrusy hop flavor from the IPA, but a very clean finish and subtle yeast notes from the witbier. Overall, it’s an interesting first blend, hoppy and fruity, with a crisp bite and a clean finish.
