Moderately hazy with no head retention, smells of plum, raisin, and marsala wine. The taste is flat and semi sweet with no clear flavors, maybe fig, maybe caramel, maybe chocolate and the body is watery and virtually flat. The finish is long and low in bitterness, featuring very faint notes of chocolate, sherry, and raisin. Overall, I have to assume this beer is long past it’s prime, a shame as the aroma is so appealing. In its current state, while inoffensive, it is not an enjoyable beer.
Best before: 12/13 😬 I should have paid better attention at the store I got this from, but they should also be ashamed to be selling something 12 YEARS past it’s expiration.
