Clear with minimal head retention, smells of Maraschino cherry and fresh baked bread. The taste is bright and slightly tart cherry up front, but this is quickly balanced out by a crisp malt character and a more savory, almost chocolatey cherry touch and a medium body. The finish is dry and very low in bitterness, with a hint of residual acidity. Overall, this is a very unique beer, probably the most complex Leinie’s I’ve had, with a great balance between sweet and tart cherry and the malt body.
