Just the slightest bit hazy with excellent head retention, smells of mango, pineapple, and guava. The taste is crisp and juicy with flavors of sourdough, peach, papaya, and passion fruit on a soft and smooth full body. The finish is long and moderately low in bitterness, featuring notes of apricot, orange peel, guava, and floral/herbal hops. Overall, this is a good beer packed with flavor and quite drinkable despite its ABV, though there is a small booziness to it. I do find the naming in this series a bit confusing though; Sip of Sunshine the original IPA, then Little Sip the session IPA, Double Sunshine the DIPA version (but also the same 8% ABV as the original?), and Triple Sunshine the TIPA version at 10.5%. So they’re calling this one an Imperial IPA, which I’ve always considered to be the same style as a DIPA, but ABV-wise it fits between the Double and Triple. Perhaps Double is just the original but with extra dry hopping and this is the real Double Sunshine?
