Currently the #1 ranked porter in the world on BeerAdvocate! Flashlight shows no light save for some deep amber refracting around the glass; this beer is DARK. Light head retention, smells of caramel, coffee, and dark chocolate. The taste is semi sweet with notes of chocolate and sweet cream upfront, roasted coffee and toasted bread underneath the incredibly smooth, full body. The finish is long with low to moderate bitterness, featuring herbal and spicy hops notes along with some residual smokiness. Overall, this is a damn good porter; can’t say if it’s the best in the world but it is the best I can remember having myself.
