I review the beers I drink

Harpoon – Day Drifter Nitro-Dosed IPA

Lightly hazy with too much foam to pour the full can (pictured) but it eventually settles to a solid inch of retained head; smells of dried apricot, peach, and floral hops. The taste is crisp and bready with flavors of wheat crackers, oatmeal, and a touch of citrus on a coarsely carbonated, yet thick and chewy full body. The finish is long and moderately bitter, featuring notes of orange peel and apricot, along with herbal, floral, and piney hops. Overall, it’s a bit one dimensional, I feel like it needs more dry hopping, and I really can’t tell you what the nitrogen is supposed to add besides foam; perhaps a touch of creaminess to the mouthfeel but overall it still drinks like a carbonated ale.
