Goose Island – Bourbon County Mon Chéri Stout 2019

Flashlight merely thinks about showing a deep blood red hue, no real head retention, smells of black cherry, bourbon, and vanilla. The taste is sweet and decadent, with notes of cordial cherry, dark chocolate, and subtle smoky oak on a thick, syrupy body. The finish is long and warming with a low to moderate bitterness and notes of dark chocolate, herbal hops and smoked cherry. Overall, this is an excellent variant of the already great 2019 base stout, adding cordial cherry flavor to the experience without overpowering the base stout.
