I review the beers I drink

Goose Island – Bourbon County Brand Stout 2018

Flashlight? What flashlight? No head retention, smells of bourbon, vanilla, and caramel. The taste is sweet and creamy with notes of chocolate, vanilla cream, and a hint of cherry on a smooth, full body. The finish is long and low to moderate in bitterness, featuring herbal hops, dark chocolate, and a subtle oakiness. Overall, this is another great vintage that I presume has mellowed over the past 2 years, producing a very smooth, very drinkable beer, though not quite as complex as the 2019.
