Flashlight reveals only an impenetrable darkness, no head retention, smells of bourbon, vanilla, and subtle stone fruits. The taste is rich and semi-sweet with notes of coffee, dark chocolate, smoke, vanilla, caramel, raisin, and black cherry on a thick, syrupy body. The finish is long and low to moderate in bitterness, with notes of oak, coffee, dark chocolate, and herbal hops. Overall, this is another fantastic vintage, on par with the 2019 and even smoother from the additional aging. I’m holding onto an extra bottle of each for further aging.
