I review the beers I drink

Goose Island – Bourbon County Brand Sir Isaac’s Stout 2022

Flashlight is unable to penetrate, no real head retention, smells of fig, bourbon, and vanilla. The taste is smooth and fruity with flavors of fig, Coca-Cola, vanilla, honey, caramel and a hint of graham cracker on a smooth and creamy full body. The finish is long and moderately low in bitterness, featuring notes of dark chocolate, graham crackers, honey, black cherry, oak, and subtle herbal hops. Overall, it’s surprising how much it tastes like cola, is fig an ingredient in colas? Either way this has a nice soft sweetness and even softer bitterness in the finish and is endlessly smooth throughout and a fun, unique beer to experience; not my favorite Bourbon County, but not at all disappointing.
