I review the beers I drink

Goose Island – Bourbon County Brand Classic Cola Stout 2021

Flashlight shows almost nothing at all, merely a hint of cola color in a sea of darkness, head retention is minimal, smells of cherry cola, vanilla, and oak. The taste is rich and moderately sweet, with flavors of cherry vanilla cola, black cherry, milk chocolate, and coffee on a smooth, syrupy full body. The finish is long and moderately low in bitterness, featuring notes of dark chocolate, oak, bourbon, cinnamon, vanilla, herbal hops and a hint of cherry. Overall, it delivers the promised cherry cola flavors, but they struggle to shine through the base layer of coffee, chocolate, and smoke flavors. I would like to see this beer tried again but from the ground up, not just flavoring an already made stout.
